Ginkgo
Biloba is reccomended for people with poor blood circulation
and effected by oedemas or ischemic and thrombotic disorders.
Ginkgo is a plant capable of improving blood circulation in particular
in the brain. It is hence reccomended also for elderly people
affected by memory or concetration problems. The traditional applications
of Ginkgo biloba are attached to its properties at the level of
brain microcirculation. Toxicological research has proven that
the extracts of Ginkgo biloba leaves are not tonic if taken in
the recommended doses and so side-effects have been identified.
The leaves of Ginkgo are antioxidants because they contain flavonoids
(quercetin and rutin); the free radicals are prrticularly harmful
for brain tissues and hence protect the brain against degradation
and improve brain acrivities in cases of poor functioning in elderly
people due to the poor supply of blood to bran cells (memory abd
concentration disorders, dizziness).
